What’s happening at Qudos Arena, Sydney Olympic Park tomorrow night at 6pm? That’s easy.
“High five your neighbour and tell them, ‘get to conference’” said Global Senior Pastor of Hillsong Church, Brian Houston, on Sunday evening with a twinkle in his eye and an uber-cool swagger.
“With guests flying from all over the world to be here, we certainly don’t want our own church to miss out.”
Let me now extend that invitation to you. With tens of thousands of visitors set to fill Qudos Arena tomorrow night for the acclaimed Hillsong Conference ‘Opener’ commencing at 6pm, you don’t want to miss it!
This year's speakers
Themed ‘closer’, this year’s conference like every other year will feature the world’s most sought after Christian communicators, including Pastor John Gray of Lakewood Church, Houston Texas, Craig Groeschel of Life.Church, Beth Moore the founder of Living Proof Ministries, and of course, the international Hillsong team: including Carl Lentz of Hillsong New York City, who has made quite an impression on the world with his vulnerable and profound approach to evangelism. Lauren Daigle, winner of the 2016 Billboard Music Award for ‘Best Christian Album’ will also be performing this year.
Jentezen Franklin, international preacher, author and Pastor of Free Chapel Church in Gainesville, Georgia will bring a hotly anticipated word to kick off the four-day conference tomorrow night. International Christian Band, United will be playing songs from their latest chart-topping album, ‘Wonder’, and of course, Brian Houston together with wife, Bobbie, fellow Global Senior Pastor in her own right, will welcome the 21 000 strong congregation, while thousands more pack the overflow tents situated around the arena.
So what are you doing tomorrow night? If you’re the slightest bit curious then the answer seems obvious: Get to Sydney Olympic Park. Leave yourself plenty of time too, with people lining up from 4pm to get into Qudos Arena.
