Finally there has been an end to a massive 11 month season of football. The season in Europe normally starts around the 2nd week in August and most of the elite in Europe were in some way involved in the World Cup. So finally Europe has some rest from the World Game after a long and tiring season..

Drugs in Sport
For the past week the AFL has been shot back into the debate over legal drug use in sport. The trigger was the hospitalisation of AFL superstar Ben Cousins. Ben allegedly took legally available caffeine tablets before his Richmond game to boost performance. After the game he took several legally available sleeping tablets to counter the effect of this stimulant before bed.
