Everton have just finished 3 games in Australia as they start to build their fitness for the upcoming year. First they played Sydney FC before travelling to Melbourne to play the new A League club Melbourne Heart before finishing on Saturday night at Brisbane playing the Roar.
Tottenham Hotspur have also begun their pre season with a trip to the USA. Harry Rednapp has placed Spurs in the champion's league and doesn't intend on wasting the chance to build on an impressive last campaign. Spurs have been linked to plenty of players this year however they still are hoping to bring in a big named striker. They also are linked to lots of speculation regarding players leaving White Hart Lane.
Defending Champions Chelsea will be looking to find some quality players with the likes of Ballack and Joe Cole leaving the bridge. Both players' contracts are up and the club will need to replace their experienced players who are leaving before the season begins. Chelsea have clearly stated that the Champions League is their top priority this season after falling to eventual Champions Inter Milan in the Quarter finals last season.
Newcastle, West Brom and Blackpool are also trying to bolster their squads ahead of their return to the top flight. All 3 teams are looking to stay up this season and will all have to spend if they are to have a chance of staying in England's Top flight.
The transfer marked is about to heat up with less then 4 weeks before the Premiership begins, followed by the other top leagues in Europe. With that in mind many have got targets and speculation will be building as the lead up to another fascinating season draws closer.
