“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
(Colossians chapter 3, verse 3)
Jesus is worthy of a life laid down.
I died, and my life is now hidden in God. The life I live is not my own; I have been bought with a price, therefore I honour God with my body. I follow the example of Jesus, and journey to the cross to be crucified with Him. I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me. I exist for the glory of God, and it is my joy and desire to share in His sufferings, and be a part of His story on the earth.
I remind myself tonight that Jesus is worthy of all my life, not just some or a part of it. He who saw me as worth dying for, is worth me daily dying to myself and desires for His glory.
I don’t know if you needed a reminder, but here’s one: Jesus is worth whatever you’re holding on to. Jesus is worth it. JESUS IS WORTH IT!
Anything you give up for Christ is not really a loss, but a gain. Allow Him to liberate your heart from the idols that currently dominate your thoughts, emotions, and waking moments, into the freedom of surrender.
What joy it is to walk unhindered! What joy it is to surrender, and cast our frail vain crowns at His feet. What liberty it is to die daily and so never fear men or death, because what is the worst that a man can do to you - kill you?
Beloved, Jesus is worthy of your life!
What is keeping you from taking that step, making that decision, speaking to that person, ending that relationship, or whatever else is keeping you from walking wholeheartedly in relationship with Jesus and His plans for your life?
Resolve in your heart today to do whatever is necessary to walk in total submission and obedience to Jesus. Join a company of persons around the world who have grown tired of insipid, flimsy Christianity. Persons who have set their hearts to know, love and pursue the Worthy God, gaze upon His beauty, be transformed by His radiance; and walk shamelessly abandoned into His wildest dreams for their lives and the nations of the earth.
Join a company of burning ones, who shine like lamps in a wilderness of decadence, selfishness and immorality, pointing the way to the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Ones, who by their lives of sacrificial surrender, liberate others to follow suit and experience pleasures this world cannot offer - the supreme pleasure of voluntarily loving God, and choosing obedience in an age filled with competing distractions.
“Behold!” they cry.
“Come and see a man who is worthy of all you could ever give.”
“Come and see, lock eyes with His beautiful gaze and never be the same.”
“This Holy One has won our hearts.”
