The following is an adaptation of a short story written for my Year 12 assessment. Whilst a work of fiction, it is based on real events in my life. The world isn’t always fair. Sometimes our perspective of issues is clouded by different contexts, and invariably, two wrongs never make something right..

Being a big minded person
I recently overheard a conversation of someone saying that they had seen a specialist. That part was normal, and totally fine, but what followed grieved me. This particular person went on to say that because of how much work this specialist did for the community their lifestyle didn’t reflect that of other specialists who worked in the same area.

There should be more than one Grace in the Game
There are many stories about West Indian great Viv Richard's that get told. Usually the one about the bowler who describes the cricket ball in detail and to whom Richards replies “You know what it looks like got get it.” after Viv hit it out of the ground and into a river. The one I remember is an earlier moment in his youth.

Start again like Zerubbabel
I want to briefly talk to you about Zerubbabel. When the Israelites were returning from captivity from the Babylonians, Zerubbabel was put in charge of rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem. The foundation was laid through his leading and then some difficulties arose, opposition came from the Samaritans and all work on the temple stopped.
