I love my GPS sport’s watch. Like your phone or car GPS it can record your journey. So when I started my open water swim in the local lake I was interested in what my watch would tell me about my current training program. As I swum through 1500m I took a glance with astonishment!

Dementia & Two Mothers
We visited Edna, my wife’s 93 year old mother who lives behind locked doors in a nearby aged-care facility.Dementia is defined as a chronic or persistent mental disorder marked by memory failure, personality change and impaired reasoning: from Latin meaning ‘out of one’s mind’.

Hearing the voice of God
One month ago, I completed a Discipleship Training School with Youth With a Mission (YWAM). The five-month school taught me many valuable and life changing things. I completed a three-month lecture phase and a two-month outreach (missional) phase, both of which had profound impacts on my life.

Where to now? Finding your way when you don’t know what’s next
As a pastor and youth worker I’ve spent a significant amount of my time talking to people about purpose, career and what they want to do with their lives. Although I believe that it is important to pray and listen to God for direction, I also think God gives us wisdom, passion and initiative to choose our own future.

I woke up the other day with an intense desire to knit. Perhaps it was the rain pattering on the roof that sparked the longing to create something cosy and warm. Or maybe I was inspired by the memory of my grandmother who taught me to knit with soft wool she’d spun herself from neighbour’s sheep.
