Hope seems to be on our mind constantly at the start of each year. It’s a time where we can believe in ourselves to achieve great things and we believe we can see transformation in our lives and even believe we can finally have the healthy lifestyle we really want..

  • Finding your Voice

    Often, in the midst of the uncertainty of life, we find it difficult to comprehend where we seem to be heading. I, for one, definitely feel the weight of pressure: the pressure to conform to what people in society want me to be; how those close to me wish I could be; and how I even dream of becoming something entirely different than my present state of being.

    There are so many things to love about this time of year; the change in temperature and season, the particular flowers that bloom in these cooler months, the sunsets, the smell of the wood fire, the show! We also celebrate a few personal celebrations at this time of year too; our wedding anniversary falls at this time of year, our son’s birthday and our church’s expansion offering.

A miracle, according to The Webster Dictionary, is: “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.” Often when we speak about this ‘divine intervention’ as something that happens in everyday lives, it is impersonal, grand, and at many times, far beyond reality.

     There seems to be a false humility when it comes to giving to the poor. I have heard the saying a thousand times, “they should not give money to this wealthy footballer, they should give it to the poor.”
