It was at this time, heading to a brilliant Rugby career that Nathan Dirs was injured and in the end having played out his time, he like every other Rugby player, graciously went into retirement.
Nathan Dirs is 29 now and a family man. He and his wife Karen have three tiny tots, all under 4. Moreover Nathan Dirs is in his fourth year at Morling Theological College (NSW Baptist) in Sydney.
Nathan Dirs is engaged in a Graduate Diploma of Ministry. Nathan and Karen and their family live on Campus at Morling College.
So what is so special about Nathan Dirs, surely Nathan Dirs is just one of literally hundreds of such senior theological students around Australia.
Mark and Delma Tronson (Well-Being Australia) have lived by faith financial support for 28 years and in all those years they have produced a monthly newsletter which is sent by post to their network and in more recent years on the Internet.
Included with that newsletter is a single A4 page Bible teaching and over those 28 years they have only had two Bible teachers. This must be something of a record.
When this writer sought out the Reverend Dr Ross Clifford the Principal of Morling for a student with a young family to become the 3rd Bible teacher for their monthly newsletter, Dr Clifford suggested Nathan Dirs.
Nathan Dirs initiated his Bible teaching for the first time for the April 2010 monthly newsletter for the Mark and Delma Tronson Ministry (Well-Being Australia).
Nathan concluded his initial bible teaching with these words: "Let us not become complacent with the Gospel, but encourage each other. Let the message of the Gospel strengthen us as we live out transformed, Christ-centred lives and may our eyes be fixed on the sure and certain future hope - the coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ."
