From April 6th – July 15th 2006, a 100 day national rally will take place in Kigali stadium in the Rwandan capital. Initiated by Mark and Darlene Zschech, the event will mark the genocide which took place in Rwanda in 1996, and in contrast serve and offer hope to the people of Rwanda with people and resources.
Upon visiting Rwanda in 2004, Mark and Darlene Zschech were impacted and challenged by the events which took place in 1996, when more than one million people were killed in the streets of Rwanda. And in turn the experience inspired the project Hope: Rwanda, a 100 day national rally that will be about contributing and giving to the needy people in Rwanda.
The 100 day project will begin with the ‘NOT FORGOTTEN’ Opening Ceremony and Album Recording in Kigali stadium, Kigali, Rwanda.
“We've known about this for a long time but hadn't understood the impact on a nation 10 years afterward. Our hearts were challenged” Darlene told Christianity Today. “We're going to start the whole project by recording a live worship album called In the Wonder.”
