I believe that I have spoken much about waiting and being prepared for the promises God has for you, and how he is going to activate it or when is he going to speak and tell us that the next part of the itinerary is going to happen.
However, are we ready to go and grab the promise and run with God and experience all that He has prepared?
Will we run with Jesus?
If someone rang you and said, ‘I need you to do something immediately, would you drop everything to do it?’ If someone said, ‘jump off something’, would you be prepared to jump? Usually, the answer is ‘no’—apart from the adrenaline junkies or adventurous and mischievous people.
We are usually told by God to ‘go’ or ‘just do’. Eventually, He isn’t going to push—He will just wait. His patience is greater than ours. However, what if we believed something was right and went with it, as we trusted Jesus to be there and not let anything go wrong in His plan?
Often, we turn away from His plan or command, as it seems either too small for us or too big. However, when we look at Jesus here on Earth, He did everything from small to big. So, why should we have to wait for the right thing to come to us?
I believe it comes down to this: you are never going to find the right thing at the right time. Despite this, when most of us look back at when something happened and we did it, we believe it is so right and everything has helped going forward because of that event in time—whether it be accommodation, work, family, food, travel etc.
Sometimes if the opportunity presents itself, there’s a reason….
If a new opportunity appears in any part of life, there must be reason for it. However, when we don’t even think about God being in the picture for this, we look back and say, ‘God put me in an awkward situation in life’.
No, you didn’t involve God in your everything. If Jesus is our everything when we cry out (usually on a Sunday), why don’t we involve Him in everything!?
Usually, we see a new opportunity of servant-leadership in Church, or to simply take responsibility with no credit taken for work, but we don’t take the chance because we aren’t ‘ready’ at the time.
When we use our strength in Jesus as it says in Philippians chapter 4, verse 13, we no longer rely on ourselves but put Jesus in everything. If we read the rest of that chapter, we see that we should consult and pray about everything with Jesus.
Take what God is giving you
Stepping into something new or something that we are confident of with God will always be rewarding—even if we can’t see it. We are building His kingdom on Earth, so there might be a reason that God has placed you there or is using you in something you can never see a reason for.
I have started to experience that in my life that when I put Jesus into everything, I see things that I could never do on my own become easy. It makes me want to go deeper in Him and see what else is part of the itinerary of my life. Seeing Jesus Legacy around me gives me joy that I got to be part of it.
Being part of the Legacy
Maybe this is how the disciples felt when Jesus ascended—that they were part of a legacy, but they couldn’t identify this legacy at the time. They argued about who Jesus loved more, they moaned in Mark chapter 9, verse 38 that people were casting out demons and told them to stop.
Jesus was building a legacy and His kingdom, and letting us be part of it. So, what’s stopping you from being part of it? Doubt, lack of ability, pride, other commitments. Don’t lose the promise that you get to be part of Jesus’ legacy!
