Alonso did not have it all his way though, with a young brash German by the name of Sebastian Vettell breathing down his neck for the entire 61 laps. Fortunately for Ferrari, Vettel could just not force Alonso into a mistake for an opportunity to make a play at the flag.
Mark Webber's third place extends his small lead in the Championship to eleven points. Webber's main rival Lewis Hamilton lost his cool behind Webber in the 36th lap and made a play on the outside of Webber's Red Bull car. Slightly in front Hamilton cut into Webber's break line and forced a collision ending his own race and causing only minor damage to the front wing of Webber's car. The incident was reviewed by the Stewards who found that Webber was not at fault despite a clearly angry, frustrated Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton has now failed to finish in the last two GP's which will be costly with such a tight Championship race
With only five races to go there are still five drivers in the race and every Championship point is crucial. With three former champions in the top five, combined with the experience of Webber and the pace of Vettell, the Formula One sport has never been so alive and enthralling. Formula One official's have been heavily criticised over the past few years for the introduction of tighter rules and regulations. However if the result is going to be closer races and closer championships the sport is surely going to grow in leaps and bounds.
