At the Stadium of Light, Sunderland got off to a perfect start with an early header from Welbeck. Bolton then had plenty of chances but couldn't find the net in a very entertaining game. Sunderland could have had more but in the end had to settle for a 1-0 win.
Blackburn also got off to a great start at Ewood Park with an early goal from defender Neilson. However West Hams desire payed off with Stanislas coming off the bench to take home a share of the spoils. West Hams Manager Grant has been given 2 more games to get 1 win to save his job and will be even more nervous now.
The rest of the Premier League games will be re scheduled for later in the season. No real movement on the league ladder.
