As the season has now finished across Europe, attention now turns to the World Cup and country's squads as friendlies begin to be played. There has already been some surprise exclusions from national teams whilst others are still fine tuning their selections before sending their teams to South Africa.
On Monday night Australia played New Zealand in a friendly before Australia head off to South Africa. New Zealand had a great start to the match, controlling most of the first half and were rewarded with a 1-0 first half lead. It could have been much worse as the Kiwis hit the bar twice in the opening 45 minutes. However after the break Australia came out much brighter and scored an equaliser before taking control of the match. Then with seconds remaining Australia scored a winner that was harsh on New Zealand as it was a very even contest.
