
The release of the album comes just seven days out from the opening when teams are beginning to arrive in the three host nations for warm up matches this week.
'De Ghumake' is also the name of the official song and will be sung in three official languages of the host nations.
The album is led by the foot-tapping and infectious official World Cup song of the same name by the prolific Bollywood music directors, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The rest of the album boasts of a high-energy mix of international hits from the likes of Enrique Iglesias, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Lady Gaga as well as artists providing a local flavour, such as AR Rahman and other big Bollywood hits.
The three languages in the song are Hindi (sung by Shankar Mahadevan), Bangla (sung by Raghab Chatterjee) and Sinhalese (sung by Ranidu Lankage).
ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat said: "Music really helps to create a buzz around an event and I am delighted we have such an energetic and diverse selection of great songs that will surely become the soundtrack of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
"The album is packed with hits, both international and Hindi, which set the mood for celebrations. The accompanying DVD makes 'De Ghumake', the album, a true collector's pack for all cricket lovers across cricket-playing nations.
According to the ICC the album and theme song will be available in CD and also via internet music outlets such as iTunes.
