Manchester United lead the chasing pack against Chelsea and continued their good form with a dominant 2-1 display over Tottenham. Nani stole the headlines for United with a goal that can only be described as bizarre. Spurs goalkeeper Gomez thought the referee had awarded a free kick following a blatant handball by Nani so put the ball down, however when Nani picked himself off the ground, he found to his surprise the ball in front of him and dually put it in the back of the net. Everyone turned to the referee who said play on and awarded the goal. Gomez and Tottenham were furious and now have to put this behind them as they look to get back to winning ways.
Arsenal also kept up their pressure on the leaders with a late Song winner at the Emirates. Arsenal couldn't break through London rivals West Ham and it took till the 87th minute to break down the defence. Wenger was relieved to get the 3 points and still believes this could be the year Arsenal break their 5 year trophy drought.
Meanwhile Manchester City lost their 2nd consecutive game this time away at Wolves. City took the lead early via a penalty only to struggle after and Wolves took full advantage. McCarthy's men rallied in the second period and ended 2-1 winners in the weekends shock result.
Liverpool continued their revival with a 1-0 win over cross town enemies Bolton courtesy of a great Torres goal. Torres is back in form and it couldn't have come at a better time for Liverpool as they look to resurrect their season.
Saturday also saw Fulham continue their great home form with a 2-0 win over Wigan. Everton also continued their great form with a 1-0 win over battling Stoke City. Sunday was the setting for derby day as Aston Villa and Birmingham played out a lacklustre derby ending goalless while Newcastle Thrashed Sunderland in the battle for supremacy in the north. Monday night's fixture was West Broms trip to Blackpool where Blackpool continued their impressive start to the season with a 2-1 win.
