'Amazing Grace' was what everyone could relate to, said Reverend Rahme. In Reverend Rahme's book, he wrote: "It transcends race, religion, and even categories. It takes in its stride all nations, regardless of colour, creed or culture. Whether presented in churches, performed in concerts or played in clubs, this Song of Songs touches the hearts of those who listen to its tune and learn its truth; this Hymn of Hymns transforms the souls of those who hear its message and heed its meaning."
To Reverend Rahme, the 'Amazing Grace' campaign was to the world as to what the 'Eternity' campaign was to Sydney. Since people knew 'Amazing Grace,' there was no need to push it said the reverend. The success of the 'Amazing Grace' tract could be seen in Melbourne during the Commonwealth Games in 2006, where over 100,000 tracts were being ordered by a group of churches in Melbourne for the 'Amazing Grace Outreach' campaign.
The book, under 100 pages, went into more detail compared to the 'Amazing Grace' tract. The aim of the book was to spread the Gospel, and this was something which Reverend Rahme wished to share with others. For people who read the draft, some were encouraging the readers in the Forward to convert to Christ and gain eternal life after reading the book.
"My hope and prayer is that many will be encouraged through this publication, but most of all that many will take to heart Peter's concluding challenge and accept for themselves this 'Amazing Grace' be converted to Christ and receive eternal life," said Robin J Johnson, Senior Minister of Encounter Craigieburn AOG and Founder & President Joseph Publishing & Media Incorporated.
It was good timing for the reverend to launch the book given the close proximity of the 'Amazing Grace' movie launch later in the year. This would create a greater interest, said Reverend Rahme. The reverend had been taking a leading role in promoting the film to Australians. Part of Reverend Rahme method in spreading the Gospel was to organised film nights with the local cinema where everyone was invited. After the movie was over, Reverend Rahme would deliver a message about the film.
The book will be publicly launched on the 27th April 2007, and it had received glowing endorsements from Australian Christians across different denominations. Reverend Rahme explained that he felt 'overwhelmed' with the responses and he had to continue the production of the book even though many were lining up to endorse his book in the Forward section of the book.
