Waiting

Waiting

Recently I’ve been hearing a lot of such questions from my four year old who has been finding it hard to wait. He even tries to get out of waiting by being as polite as he can..

  • The Donald, blue lines and some healthy self-critique

I think a reason Trump is so disliked by so much of the world looking on is his inherent lack of humility through his self-proclaimed greatness.

  • Crying golden tears

The rain comes slowly. It meanders down from the clouds in syncopated bursts of rhythm, thankfully in no hurry to water the grassy patch on which I’m huddled.

  • Personal truth and objective truth.

Our hedonistic society has made a departure from objectivism, with its devotion to the importance and significance of truth. Many endeavours are now considered to be matters of ‘personal’ truth, not objective.

  • What lifting weights can teach you about life

There are valuable life lessons to be learned from physical strength building.

  • Releasing the fire of God and illuminating the darkness

As an aspiring artist I want to see the pictures and images that I produce be released into the world and to see how they impact those who view them.

  • The insufferable product of mandatory detention

Are Australia’s border protection policies, such as mandatory detention, breaking asylum seekers into the very people the system is meant to protect Australian communities from?

  • Papua New Guinea primed for revival!

God is moving in a powerful way in Papua New Guinea. I headed over to the Bougainville region in Eastern PNG in January, knowing very little about the nation and culture.

  • Loose the toss to fix the pitch

At the start of every cricket game the opposing captains meet and toss a coin to decide who will bat or bowl first. A tradition which adds a random element to the game also frustrates many a Captain when they loose it.

  • A fascinating journey

When I was 25 I married. I now have a secure future with my husband, a daughter, another child on the way, a beautiful home that we live in, a gorgeous set of in-laws and extended family, and love being a mum that I have always dreamt of.

  • Breaking point (part 1)

Breaking point – ever been there? If you have then you can agree it’s anything but pleasant.

  • God is in the waiting

When I was in Uganda recently, my friend told me a story about waiting. (Africans always seem to have a proverb up their sleeve, offering wisdom for every occasion in a delightfully simple and engaging way).
