Our truth is the Word of God
In the early part of my journey in reading the word, I found a myriad of information online with many denying the words of the Bible, or denying parts of the word and accepting others. Some were saying things that initially sounded loving with a message of tolerance but I found they were speaking of accepting things the Bible spoke against and were not founded in the word..

How I became a contemplative part 2
The work of grace, as I said in part one, is primary to contemplative prayer. I just want to strip away some mystique of religious jargon. First of all, the work of grace is a twofold thing, it requires weakness and humility on our part and an empowering and enlivening on God's.

Seeking refuge
On World Refugee Day…I see a poster plastered to a concrete slab, dirtied from the exhaust fumes of passing traffic. Over screeching busses and revving cars hang words that can’t be silenced: true Australians say Welcome. And I think how today…

Forerunners of faith
I often find myself in bouts of frustration with what the church as a whole has become in this day and age. In fact, I would go so far as to say I am frustrated with how the church no longer seems to follow the example of the forerunners of faith, or barely does so.

Kingdom Conspiracy
Recently I’ve been reading a fascinating book by Scot McKnight called Kingdom Conspiracy. McKnight is a New Testament scholar, historian and theologian. Any questions about the integrity and authority of the Bible, I’m sure he’s your guy.

Closing the Gap between who you are and what you do

The lies the world sells us, and the traps that Christians fall into.
Consumerism’s overwhelming dominance in our culture has made it hard to hear any other message. Our society defines us in terms of economic prosperity. The increasingly rapid pace of change can strain our identity.

Do you want to receive healing?
About six weeks ago my closet door came slightly off its hinges when I was moving some boxes around. I collected the tiny screws on my nightstand for safekeeping so I could fix it right up. I have looked in my closet, often stared actually, trying to decide what to wear every single day over the last six weeks.

Personal God
As followers of Jesus, we are blessed that we worship a God that we can have a personal, intimate relationship with. A God that is is so present for us all the time, and at any time that we turn to Him.

View: Praise the LORD
I think that, conservatively, at least half of the Christians you spoke to in a church service could raise criticisms of the sung worship that they just took part in.
