How does mission money work when sent overseas
The News Daily some time ago ran a fascinating article on how Norfolk Island's tax laws are being utilised by on-line gambling syndicates for tax advantage. This is nothing new as the off-shore tax industry commonly referred to as tax havens have been around for years.

Money, money, money
I've heard the chorus to Abba's “Money, money, money” more times than I could count. You've probably heard it and know the words too, “money, money, money, must be funny, in a rich man's world. Money, money, money, always sunny, in a rich man's world!”

Are we kissing evangelicalism goodbye?
The English poet Dorothy Sayers once said, “if we really want a Christian society, we must teach Christianity”. For many long-time Christians, this would be the obvious case. But as culture moves in not just a post-modern but post-Christendom society, we must be churches that welcome and embrace every age group.

Everything you do matters
Last time I wrote I discussed the idea of aiming ourselves. That what we’re looking towards determines how we take information and how we organise our lives. This month that has been on my mind, as well as the importance of considering the cost of every choice we make.

Assumptions: When questions cease
I told my husband that I was going to shower and he snapped, “Then what do you want me to do?” I naturally assumed that he wanted to shower first and that I was cutting the queue. So, I replied that he could shower first as I thought he was tired after a long day at work and wanted to quickly shower and have an early night.

Easter – and thank you to great Christian leaders

Rev Dr Gordon Moyes AC was one of Australia's most respected Christian leaders. Easter is a time to also thank the Lord Jesus for such Christian leaders.

ANZAC - serving in the military
Next week the nation observes ANZAC Day in Australia. I serve as an RAAF chaplain based in Adelaide and served in Afghanistan in the military. Each year I find myself reflecting on what April 25 represents.

Where do we go after the Christchurch shooting?
Christchurch has had its fair share of tragedies with several severe and devastating earthquakes, the effects of which are still visible years later when I spent some time there half a year ago. It doesn't seem fair that now such a horrific terrorist attack would happen there too.

Easter and Jewish theology
A few years ago some US evangelical leaders set out a 'statement' which in my view overstated their case in two core areas.

Mosque Killings not ‘Wrong Place, Wrong Time’
The evening of the Christchurch mosque attacks I checked in with Mum, knowing the day’s events would have triggered strong feelings for her. My brother—her son, John—was killed in 1997, in a mass shooting at Raurimu. I know this because the Christchurch shootings triggered grief spasms for me, and I’m sure for my sister Heather, too.
