The strength of the evangelical church

The strength of the evangelical church

In my archive I found an article on the strength of the evangelical church  -  and it is spot on  -  it is so powerful I needed to reflect upon this further.   .

  • Reality of ANZAC

  • All that glitters

Imagine his predicament when Sir Martin Frobisher ascertained that all his efforts, time, and resources were invested in useless fool’s gold. Instead of the much sought after fortune of gold, he had brought home the comparable mineral, pyrite, which was eventually used as gravel to pave the English roadways.

  • Resting in peace

In times of crisis, one of the most valuable things we can possess is peace. Several times in scripture, we are urged to maintain peace. With the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, many have been subjected to fear. Believers must now show the world that we can have peace even in the midst of the storm.

  • “Corona is a wake-up call!”

The coronavirus has unleashed fear, panic and raw havoc on the world. Governments, businesses and the church globally has had to shift, and in some cases dramatically so.

  • Leadership in Lockdown

Saturday 29th February 2020 dawned warm and clear and continued to be a wonderful day as our family celebrated the wedding of our eldest son to our new daughter-in-law. There was lots of hugs and kisses and all the joy you’d normally expect at such a celebration. This day will be etched into the family memory bank for years to come. Good times.

  • Obvious! Not so obvious!

  • The Calm Before the Storm

It started with toilet paper hoarding, and perhaps we laughed a little. But it was a nervous laugh. Because quickly things became far more serious as people all over the world were called home and required to self-isolate, as we saw empty streets and straining hospital systems, and more and more deaths, and as we started to feel the social and economic realities of COVID-19.

  • Death, the harsh teacher

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”(Psalm chapter 90, verse 12).This is one of my favourite scriptures  because it is an extremely sobering gem.

  • The worst pandemic in the history of the world

For at least six weeks, the world has faced one of the worst pandemics in the history of humanity. The number of deaths and people infected has increased exponentially, and it has not slowed down.

  • War Between Virtues

There is a precedence for the current situation we are in. It is called war time.
