Pro-Life from the womb to the tomb

On September 18th Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg lost her battle with pancreatic cancer, aged 87. Donald Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett to replace Ginsburg. These are big decisions; the job of serving on the U.S Supreme Court is a lifetime appointment..

  • “I’m scared of who I’m becoming.”

One of my favourite Australian TV dramas of all time is Wentworth. It has action, suspense, lies and betrayal, overcoming adversities, and of course, the strength of the show lies in its exploration of the psyche of its main characters.

  • Thunderstorm

In Jamaica the months of September and October tend to be on the rainy side, actually the very rainy side. The weather forecast in recent times has been characterized by torrential rain and thunderstorms. The heavy rains are often times accompanied by very strong winds and floods which frequently result in land slippages.

  • On Family

Everyone comes from a family and bears the imprint of it. As for me, I am blessed to have three families: my original family in Hubei, a church family in Beijing and the heavenly home that God promised, and they all play vital roles in my life as I grow.

  • Loving your neighbour – France – beheading of a teacher

Covid 19 has not stopped terror attacks around the world – they continue. We can list them infinitim such as in France. the Middle East, Sydney, Christchurch….

  • Trust is a Vase

Trust is a basic and fundamental ingredient in the structure of all relationships, it can take years to build and one moment of dishonesty to destroy.

  • What is the role of the church?

This is a most fundamental question, which should not be answered lightly. My goal as usual, the Lord empowering, is to pluck the 21st century believer out of the muck of the 21st century popular culture of Christianity, that neutralized insipid shadow of a faith; into the realm of the eternal Bride of Christ.

  • I’m not okay.

Is anyone over 2020 already? You probably didn’t notice me jump to my feet and throw my fist into the air. The year has been riddled with twists and turns, changes that happen faster than we can blink.

  • When the world is getting you down

I recently listened to a radio program discussing renewable energy, climate change and land clearing in Australia. It was a lively debate focused mainly on natural gas and whether it is the miracle solution to reducing greenhouse gasses it’s touted to be.

  • Eagles

As a young bloke on the family wool-growing property with my first rifle, I remember being urged by my grandfather to shoot any 'eaglehawks' I saw. The 'eaglehawks' he was referring to is the third largest of all the eagles, the Wedge-tailed Eagle, Australia's largest raptor and often referred to as an Eaglehawk by farmers.

  • Seasoned conversations

“What a difference.” Some thought to themselves, “Is he ok?” Others questioned and yet still others accused “He’s on drugs!” Many attacked his character and others made fun of his appearance.

  • The age of skepticism

Before the internet came along we would find answers to our questions  through someone wise we trusted. It may have been our parents, grandparents, teacher, neighbour or someone we thought was wise.
