Penalty Rates – what of Ministers

This affects all church goers. There are quite a few of us, in the millions in Australia alone. In some places, Church building are being sold due to a lack of parishioners..

  • Climate Change and Religion

The arguments have been out there for years now  -  I am doubtful now whether I could even explain what Climate Change is  -  as my feeble attempt would have both sides of the fence down on me like a ton of bricks.

  • What is the role of the church? Part 2

Every entity has a purpose. The church is no different, the reason we are not zapped into heaven once we submit our lives to Jesus Christ is because we have a job to do, a role to play, a mission to fulfill.

  • I’m not okay (pt. 2)

Hello, November! It may seem strange to you, but I cannot believe that we’ve found ourselves this close to celebrating my favourite time of the year, Christmas.

  • Count my blessings

As an amateur writer, I find almost every article a bittersweet experience each month. Deep down, I understand that writing is the right thing to do and I have enjoyed it despite the “headache” during the process

  • Navigating conflict well

Is there anything as uncomfortable as having to tell your hairdresser that you love what they’ve done, when on the inside you wish you’d never let them near your precious hair?

  • Love, the superior way

Is sympathy a synonym for love? It was a question that came to mind as I was watching “The Blind Side” starring Sandra Bullock. Her character, Leigh Anne Tuohy, sympathized with a young man named Michael Oher, who seemed to be lacking the basic needs of life. As the story progressed, Mrs. Tuohy’s sympathy towards Michael matured to acts of kindness, then blossomed into genuine love and care for his wellbeing.

  • You Don't Have to Be Enough

I used to feel like I would never measure up. I knew I loved to sing, but I could not sing as well as that other girl.

  • Ride out your storm

“When the storms of life rage, He is God. When there is a downpour of blessings, He is God, and when battles are won, He is still God. No season can ever change who He is.” (Gugu Mona)

  • The miracle of the lost letter

There have been times in my life when I have had to question where I am with God.  Am I still walking in God’s will for my life?

  • Wounds speak before they heal

We can all remember an occasion, an incident, an altercation, some painful experience that hurt us. The pain inflicted may have been emotional or physical, and we can still remember the feeling if we think hard enough.

  • I forgive ME

Forgiveness has never been an issue for me, or so I thought. To begin with, I have no problem forgiving others easily. After all, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans chapter 3, verse 23). No one is perfect and I have never expected anyone to be perfect.
