  • I expect great things from God

“I expect great things from God” has been a declaration I’ve been shy to project. I want to believe that God has got great things for me, and in the long run that can be easy to cheer for: “One day God will use me to heal someone”, “One day God will help me get my dream house”, “One day I will achieve my career-goals!”

  • Has the dust settled?

There’s something refreshing about 2020, it’s different to it just being a new year but there’s something about new life, new beginnings and new opportunities that makes this year so exciting.

  • To restore dignity

To restore dignity is something you can’t really put value on but something everyone highly values. Dignity is about more than just keeping someone’s confidentiality or having someone’s back even when it’s behind their back, but it’s restoring their value. I’ve been watching how the Red Frog team have been doing that over schoolies (school leavers) week, I love schoolies week for that. Red Frogs are out there at all hours of the night restoring dignity to every graduate they can find.

  • Roadblocks

I've been hitting a lot of roadblocks with my writing over the past few months. I would begin writing but the words weren’t making sense or even making it to the page. I’d get halfway through a piece or a thought and I’d want to change it or throw it out. I have kept finding myself hitting this roadblock and then giving up.

  • Circumstantial generosity

When we think of generosity, we often think of the big gestures.

  • Hold fast the confession of our hope

“I believe in Jesus” is a powerful statement, but a statement that is also very powerful and much less used is “Jesus believes in me.”

  • One of these is ‘Hope’

Hope seems to be on our mind constantly at the start of each year. It’s a time where we can believe in ourselves to achieve great things and we believe we can see transformation in our lives and even believe we can finally have the healthy lifestyle we really want.

  • Let us run with perseverance…

“If God is so powerful, we should be more confident”

  • Can I trust God’s promises?

Something that’s been on my mind a lot lately are the promises of God and the promises he has for my life. A friend of mine asked me, “Do you really believe every one of God’s promises come true?” and my knee-jerk reaction was to criticise that idea as doubt in God’s word and make sure they knew they are wrong for even allowing that thought, but instead I took the time to consider the question.

  • Circumstantial generosity

When we think of generosity, we often think of the big gestures. If someone buys someone an expensive gift, pays for someone’s holiday, gives away their prized possession – that’s generosity, and it definitely is, but I think we forget that generosity is achievable no matter our financial situations.
