  • A Promise is still a comfort

Recently I had the privilege of witnessing my second oldest sister exchange marriage vows with the man who had been courting her for the last 3 years. As I sat and looked at the procession, the respective parts as they seamlessly came together, and the major part- the wedding vows, the laughs, the jokes, the song selections and a sense of pomp and exuberance brought the whole ceremony to a crescendo.

  • We did not follow cleverly devised myths

Peter’s second letter speaks of the truth of Jesus Christ—and Peter’s message is as instructive to us today as it was to those who originally heard it. In this letter Peter confidently proclaims the lordship of Christ, rebutting the notion that the power of Jesus is just a cleverly contrived myth. Peter bears witness to a faith that is historic and real—not mythical but factual.

  • The problem of racism, what is the answer? - Part 3

In my previous article I explored what I believe to be the real problem behind racism, namely the human heart.

  • The problem of racism, what is the answer? Part 2

In Part 1, I opened by exploring the perennial nature of the problem of racism, citing historical examples of its expression, and in spite of the fact that racism in the form of slavery and institutionalised segregation-such as Apartheid and Jim Crow- though abolished have not wiped out the presence of racism.

  • The problem of racism, what is the answer? Part 1

Recently, I have been musing on the topic of racism, especially given the recent occurrences that have been attributed to this long standing human vice.

  • Art: with virtue and therefore value

Some time ago I led a two week bible study. I wrestled with what to study and it dawned on me, why not do study the book of Psalms?
