A flight is late and the earth caves in, an appointment gets derailed, we might get annoyed but we have to deal with it, a function is cancelled or venue changed, we can handle that, a mother’s group is altered, we can adjust.

Initiative and partiality

Reflections are very much a part of everyday life in 2020 and Covid 19 illustrates impartiality for everyone. My friend of 35 years Nelson Cook who established Coaches of Influence (COIN) 40 years ago in Los Angeles USA writes a monthly letter to the many coaches at professional, college and high school levels and the current correspondence touches the spot.

Covid 19 is in some ways building bonds with spouses and on the other hand, painful. Therefore this subject is right now applicable.

The Scriptures illustrate flirting (in the sense of showing an interest) is seen as being a blessing or a curse. Deuteronomy 6 tells us anything can be either a blessing or a curse, depending on how it is utilised. 

It’s tricky – defamation

As defamation is not that uncommon – we can recall world acclaimed Geoffrey Rush’s case. I dug into my archive for this article, and found The Guardian ran a wide ranging article by Richard Ackland on the nature of free speech being restricted by defamation actions by those with deep pockets.

Children in slavery

Whatever set of statistics I provide this week – as 2020 progresses – the figures will be increased by next week  -  in this horrible trade of children in slavery, including sexual slavery.
