Woes of not burning off
The Mackay Mayor and fellow Councillors met the hood burgers of Bloomsbury and Midge Point (Whitsundays mainland) last year, In that community discussion I provided photographs of the Laguna Quays Resort overgrown areas and asked about back-burning which has been in past years a normal part of prevention of bush fires.

You’re kidding, a church is where?
Churches today can be found in the most astonishing places. Over the years I have read of a de-commissioned passenger aircraft now utilised as a church. Some use tents, some use outdoor chapels in the bush, some use large houses or hotels / motels.

Australia’s seaboard has history
Australia’s seaboard is constantly in the news with border protection right up there. In WWII the Japanese ran amok on Australia's eastern seaboard in 1942-43 with submarine attacks, air attacks and moreover Sydney and Newcastle were shelled let alone northern and the western seaboard of Australian with the bombing of Darwin all the way to Broome.

There have been numerous books, television programs and on-line histories of Australia. In some respect they all have some mention of Christianity. We might highlight school education, hospitals, political movements to mention just three where Christianity played ‘the’ role.

Retirement in Christian work ?
In Australia, there is now no mandatory 'retirement age'. This is an advantage for those who are enthusiastic and still active at maintaining their long-term job or profession, but it can be a problem for those who are getting tired and weary and let's face the fact not really benefiting their employer as much as their senior wage would indicate they should be.
