  • Made in China

The beginning of 2020 has been a wild ride and seems only to be getting started with Coronavirus on the loose. Schools, Churches, and businesses are shutting down, we’ve witnessed the great toilet paper recession and people thinking the Coronavirus is somehow linked to the beer, and in the midst of all this chaos, I’ve had some thoughts.

  • Rules of the house

It's nothing out of the ordinary for a nonbeliever to question how a person could fall for such an idea as Christianity. Christians often see things from the opposite perspective, regarding the sceptic or unbeliever as more of a victim of being blinded by the world, as said in 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 4: “to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

  • Uncomfortable Bible facts as presented by Izzy

The media has had a great time this year capitalising on the outspokenness of Australian rugby Star, Israel Folau whilst remaining on the fence about his right to share his beliefs. I wrote an article earlier this year on Folau’s viral instagram post about same-sex marriage from a biblical point of view which people were not happy about, mainly because it was condemning the act of it and people don’t like consequences (shocking).

  • Stumbling in my own shadow

U2’s latest album, Songs of Experience, includes a song titled, “Get Out of Your Own Way”. While listening closely to the creative lyrics I realised how relevant this concept is to my own life let alone the people around me.

  • Three Things to learn from Jackie Robinson: Part three

Following on from parts one and two of this series on the inspiring story of Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play Major League Baseball in the 1940s.

  • 3 Things to learn from Jackie Robinson: Part two

Following on from part one, Jackie Robinson was the first African-American to play Major League Baseball beginning in the 1940s. Yet his success didn’t come easily.

  • The man

If I had a penny for every time someone posted or shared something offensive to Christians on social media—I’d have a lot of penny’s that I wouldn’t know what to do with because we don’t use penny’s in Australia.

  • Learning from history

After buying a new phone you open the instruction manual and read up on product care, then find a few pages on how to ruin the product. Both have incredibly useful information to ensure that your product receives a long life as promised on the packaging, so you read both and notice a little paragraph about what happens when it is submerged in water, and promptly dismiss the warning.

  • Let me entertain you

After any preach whether it’s at a church, conference, concert or some person on the corner of a busy street, there is always talk about how enjoyable or valid the message was. You’ll notice in the foyer after the Sunday services that most of the conversation circling the congregation is about the message, however it can be a touchy subject. Something that one person might have loved, another might have strongly disagreed with.

  • Barefoot and spiritually broke

The new year never fails to make us reflect and compare what our goals were and what we actually achieved in the previous year. For many of us it's something we’d rather ignore due to the harsh reality that some haven’t accomplished as much as they’d hoped.
