Last Saturday in Sydney was "nothing short of an inspirational" at the Australian Christian Lobby conferences. I was there.
You know they're doing something right when it elicits a protest from the Rainbow warriors. Chanting their war cry - 'Death to the haters' - Evidently that's everyone who loves Jesus.
Each speaker was an expert in their field, and explained how Christians have history on their side when it comes to expressing a view on public policy.
The guest speaker Eric Metaxas was brilliant. His seminal, witty and powerful intellect, exposed the vapid arguments of the Elites who impose their anti-God and Marxists policies on democracies and thereby establish a new form of tyranny over millions under the guise of liberty.
We don't have democracies, but oligarchies which determine what our children will be taught in schools, what defines marriage and who has the right to live. He avers that we should be in the streets protesting about our loss of freedom.
Eric Metaxas
Eric Metaxas showed his audience how in these uncertain times we can draw hope and courage from the fearless conviction of Christian heroes who have been motivated by faith in God to shape their societies for good.
By cultivating courage we can together be a voice for values and shape our nation's future.
Eric Metaxas, a New York Times best-selling author has penned biographies on Dietrich Bonhoeffer and William Wilberforce. His book, 7 Men and 7 Women explore the great contribution of fearless Christian heroes of their time.
He brings compelling, modern insights from these examples of courage and has an urgent yet winsome message for Christians today.
I encourage the reader to visit his website (Google his name) there's a wealth of inspiration to be found - you'll see that he is one of God's prophets sent to speak to our generation and this hour.
